Body Voltage Kit
Measuring Electrical Stress in Your Environment
Body voltage testing is a simple way to measure how much electrical energy from your environment is interacting with your body. In modern homes, electrical wiring, appliances, and electronics can create low-level electric fields that may transfer voltage to the body, especially while sleeping.
While these fields are common in modern environments, reducing unnecessary electrical exposure—particularly during sleep—can help support the body’s ability to rest, repair, and regulate the nervous system.
Because we spend roughly one-third of our lives sleeping, optimizing the electrical environment in the bedroom can be an important step toward creating a healthier home environment.
In the video above, Dr. George demonstrates how to measure body voltage using a body voltage kit.
Why Body Voltage Matters
When electrical fields are present near the body, small amounts of voltage can be induced on the skin. For some individuals, this additional electrical load may interfere with sleep quality, nervous system regulation, and recovery.
Measuring body voltage can help identify hidden electrical exposure in the home and guide simple changes that may reduce that exposure.
While ideal levels may vary depending on the environment, many practitioners recommend:
• Ideally: below 100 millivolts (0.1 V) while sleeping
• Higher levels: above 1 volt may indicate significant electrical exposure
Testing provides a clear way to determine whether your sleeping environment may benefit from adjustments. For best results, test in the exact place you normally sleep, as electrical exposure can vary significantly within the same room.
What to Do if Levels Are High
If your readings are elevated, a few simple steps may help reduce exposure:
• Turn off the bedroom circuit breaker and retest to see if voltage drops.
• Remove or relocate nearby electronics or plugged-in devices.
• Check for lamps, chargers, or extension cords near the bed.
• Evaluate potential electrical sources behind walls such as wiring or smart meters.
Identifying the source of the electrical field is the key step in reducing exposure.
